It turns out the sewing contest my sister is in is a Top Chef (or I guess Project Runway, I’ve never actually seen it) style elimination competition. So if you have a minute to spare, please please please go vote for Lindsay at:

One day late but I’m really trying to stick to my font recommendation resolution.

I’ve been on a bit of a distressed font downloading kick lately and Old Press by Galdino Otten is one of my favorite specimens. The lettering is great and the erosion looks really natural. Great choice if you have any grungy designs brewing.

New Font: Sewing Patterns 2!

image

If you downloaded my previous Sewing Patterns font and liked it okay but just wished the fashions were a little bit older, then have I got the font for you.

Sewing Patterns 2 covers the 1910s through the 1940s. Downton Abbey styles? Check. Flappers? Check. Tailored suits for ladies? Check. And hats! So many hats.

Free for personal use with commercial licensing available for $15.

Download it here.

To kick things off, here’s Barbarello by Su Lucas. It’s an awesome barbed wire style font with all the symbols and everything.

Everyone loves mom blogs, right?

I like this font. It reminds me of the food graphics they use at Shake Shack. Plus, it comes with full symbols. I can’t find a website for designer Martín Argüello but you can…
