Artificial Intelligence has too much hype. In this podcast, linguist Emily M. Bender and sociologist Alex Hanna break down the AI hype, separate fact from fiction, and science from bloviation. They're joined by special guests and talk about everything...
I've really been enjoying listening to people who know way more than I do separating what's real from what's just hype when it comes to AI. Instead of being dry, a lot of the topics they cover are pretty comical in their ridiculousness.
My only complaint: I think hosts Emily M. Bender and Alex Hanna have NPR-style soothing voices and sometimes find myself lulled into missing a point and forced to rewind.A left-wing podcast for better technology and a better world....
I usually avoid tech podcasts; Tech Won't Save Us is the main exception. It takes an honest, critical view of the industry, so if your gut reaction to hearing about LLMs or FSD or NFTs is extreme skepticism, you're in for a real treat.
The airport bestsellers that captured our hearts and ruined our minds...
I love this podcast. My only complaint is that it’s newish and I sped through every episode and now I want more.
As someone who spent years working in bookstores and libraries, biting my tongue while selling and lending so many terrible, terrible books, these takedowns are extremely validating.
The Facebook Files, an investigative podcast series, dives into an extensive array of internal Facebook documents that provide an unparalleled look inside the social media giant....
The Wall Street Journal is pretty bad most of the time and their op-ed page is embarrassing for everyone involved but the Facebook Files podcast is fantastic. Whatever you may have suspected Facebook of getting up to, the reality is almost always so much worse.

Just started listening to this podcast. As someone who was pretty fascinated with the Jeremy Renner app and had a lot of questions at the time, I’m really hoping it provides some answers.
Since Halloween is coming up, check out out this super spooky podcast. It’s perfect for cowards like me who can’t handle most horror movies but still feel compelled to read the Wikipedia plot summaries.
Listen to The Catch and Kill Podcast with Ronan Farrow episodes free, on demand. For the past two years, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Ronan Farrow has been following a trail of clues from his investigation of Harvey Weinstein to other blockbuster stories about the systems that protect powerful men accused of terrible crimes in Hollywood, Washington, and beyond. But he didn’t bring that information to light on his own. A compelling cast of sources—from brave whistleblowers to shadowy undercover operatives—decided the fate of these investigations, sometimes risking everything in the process. The Catch and Kill Podcast brings you their stories, in their own words, for the first time. The easiest way to listen to podcasts on your iPhone, iPad, Android, PC, smart speaker – and even in your car. For free. Bonus and ad-free content available with Stitcher Premium....
I just finished the book Catch and Kill and would highly recommend reading it but if you’re looking for podcast-sized chunks for work or your commute, give this a listen.
Warning! It is maddening and a lot of the bad guys still have high-level media jobs and are shaping news narratives right now.
Benjamin Light and Marco Sparks break down each episode of Pretty Little Liars in ever increasing detail....
Recommending this podcast now since there are only two weeks left to listen along with the show. Fantastic Toby impressions.

More of what I’m listening to while I work. Worst Episode Ever is a podcast dedicated to finding the worst post-classic episode of the Simpsons.
This podcast is really at it’s best when it’s totally off the rails with Dalek impressions and original characters but I’m linking to a relatively focused example because I think Moe’s talking rag might actually be the worst episode.
